The Network for the design for dismantling, reuse and recycling in road vehicles.

DRIVENet was created with the premise that, with proper application of knowledge in materials science and processing technologies, it is possible to design and produce technically and commercially viable components that can be made to be effectively dismantled at end of life and to produce materials/components that can be recycled and reused.

Whole life vehicle waste streams - A global perspective
November 2007

This report, produced by DRIVENet, is the first study of its kind to quantify past and future levels of waste generated by the motor industry worldwide and focus on the total amount of waste produced by a vehicle over its lifetime - from manufacture, in routing servicing and at the end of life.

This report, launched in November 2007, is available for purchase in printed format or as a pdf file.

DRIVENet: Road Mapping Future Directions

A road map indicating the future of the automotive industry with respect to the design for dismantling, reuse and recycling in road vehicles, is available in the members area. This work is the result of a DRIVENet workshop at Ford Dunton in April 2005.

Please register on the website to gain access to the roadmap.
